Department of Pediatrics has scheduled a workshop cum hands on training program on “Basic Life Support for police and KSRTC personals from our department as part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
About 40 Police constables and 1 traffic PSI from police department Registered for the workshop. Similarly 8 NEKSRTC personals registered for the workshop. So a total of 49 participants. attended the workshop.
Dr. T Srinivas Registrar NET, Dr B Vijaychandra Principal, NMC, Dr Vijaykumar Director IPSA, Prof. Doddaya Principal, NET Pharmacy College , Dr Abhishek Patel & Dr Ajay J Asst Profs, Dr Giridhar Devaru, Dr. Sadanand Reddy and Dr Deepti Sr Residents from dept of Pediatrics, NMC and all pediatrics post graduate students.
At the outset, Dr Sanjeev Chetty professor of pediatrics welcomed all the participants and brief introduction about the course was given. Dr. Vishwanath Meti Assistant professor of Anesthesia & Instructor BLS engaged lectures on “BASIC LIFE SUPPORT” and its Significance, methodology, various technicalities of BLS.
Later on all the participants were divided into 2 groups for hands on training and mock drilling of the Situation. Participants were initially demonstrated about life support skills over mannequin and in the group of 2 people were made to perform their skills in front of instructors to attain expertise.
All the Participants were enthusiastically performed their skills and were very interactive in learning and clearing their doubts. All the participants were satisfied and thrilled in knowing and learning new modality of life support in event of any disaster which they will be coming across in their duties.
All the Participants thanked Navodaya Medical College for giving them opportunity to learn this new skill.
