Walkathon on World Tuberculosis Day 2018: 24th March

As part of World Tuberculosis Day 2018, a walkathon was organized by District Tuberculosis Office, Department of Health and Family welfare, Raichur in collaboration with IMA Association, Navodaya Medical College and the pharmacists Association. District Health Officer Dr. Naseer and District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Surendra Babu flagged the walkathon.  Dr. Bheemayya B, Prof and Head, Dr. Ayesha Nawaz, Dr.M.B.Patel and Dr. Vandana from Department of Community Medicine, Navodaya Medical College participated in the walkathon along with 40 undergraduate Medical Students. T-shirts with End TB Logo were sponsored by DTO for all the participants of walkathon. The walkathon started from Deputy Commissioner’s office at 8 am and passed through the market area of Teen Kandhil before concluding at IMA Hall. The students carried placards with messages on Tuberculosis to raise awareness among the general public and distributed pamphlets on signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis. The event was covered by the local media and press.
