Voluntary Blood Donation Camp (15th June 2022) – Report
Blood Bank, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur

To commemorate World Blood Donor Day, a Voluntary blood donation camp was
conducted on 15th June 2022, with the able guidance and support from Shri. S.R. Reddy Sir,
Honourable Chairman, NET, Raichur, by the Department of Pathology, from 9.00AM to
5.00PM at Blood Bank, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur. A
virtual meeting of all the blood banks in Karnataka was conducted on 8th June 2022 by Deputy
Director (blood safety & STI) KSAPS, and in this context, the said camp was organised. The
camp started after a brief inauguration ceremony.

The inaugural function was presided by Dr. B. Vijayachandra, Principal, Navodaya
Medical College, Raichur. The chief guest for the event was Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya
Education Trust, Dr. A.S. Aanand, Vice Principal, Prof & HOD Department of Pathology, NMC,
Raichur, Dr.T. Balraj, I/C Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC Dr. Mallikarjun Reddy.
CEO, NMCH&RC, Dr. Narayan Pendlikal, RMO, NMCH&RC and Dr. Amruth Reddy were
among the other dignitaries on the dias.

Dr. A.S. Aanand Vice Principal, Prof & HOD Department of Pathology, NMC, Raichur
welcomed the gathering and Dr. Madhavi Kulkarni, Medical officer, Blood Bank, NMCH&RC
gave a brief talk to create awareness and motivate voluntary non-remunerated blood donors
for donation, as per the recent norms of WHO .
For 2022, the World Blood Donor Day slogan is “Donating Blood is an act of solidarity.
Join the effort and save lives”.

Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust addressed the gathering and
encouraged about the voluntary blood donation and gave a message at large, to all the
teaching and non-teaching members of NET. He also addressed all the faculties and members
associated with blood bank NMCH&RC to arrange blood grouping camps, in order to create a
wide data base of blood donors, especially of the rarer groups.
Three of the blood donors with highest number of donations were felicitated by the
dignitaries as a token of appreciation and encourage their noble service to the mankind.
Dr. B. Vijaychandra, Principal, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur gave the
presidential remarks and appreciated today’s event & emphasized on conducting many such
Voluntary blood donation & awareness camps especially in the peripheral regions of our
district, to gather the list of donors who can contribute in cases of emergencies and also to
maintain the stock of blood units in our blood bank throughout the year.

Dr. Kajal B.P. Professor, Dept. of Pathology, NMC, recognizing the encouragement and
support from management, NET, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
After the inaugural function, voluntary blood donation camp was conducted, in which
Dr. T.Srinivas, Registrar, NET was one of the foremost donors, among many. A total of 32
blood units were collected from staff & students of various institutions of NET, along with
Blood grouping of 154 members was done & their names registered in the donors’ list of blood
bank NMCH&RC.
The conduction of the entire camp was successful & hassle free and was highly
appreciated by the authorities involved in this event
