Department of Physiology

The department of Physiology is the scientific study of the functions and mechanisms which work within a living system. The focus of physiology is on how organisms, organ systems, organs, cells, and bio molecules carry out the chemical and physical functions that exist in a living system

Both undergraduate and Postgraduate students are taught and guided by well experienced faculties. The department has established well equipped laboratory with modern equipments and facilities necessary to teach the current concepts in Physiology and related research activity.

Hematology:

investigations like RBC Count WBC Count, platelet count, blood group & coagulation studies, Reticulocyte count, Absolute Eosinophil count, and erythrocyte Sediment Rate.

Human Lab:

E. C. G, Ergograph Spirometery – Lung Volumes & Capacity, MVV, Vital Capacity & timed vital capacity, Stethography, perimetery, Heart rate variability, and Nerve Conduction Velocity.

Departmental Activities

PG’s seminar and Journal Club are conducted once a week on rotation amongst PG’s.
Attended National Seminar on recent update of metal toxicity and its implications on community health at Al Ameen Medical College.
CME was organized by APPI JNMC, Belgaum on early diagnosis of neurological disorders in childhood.
A workshop on Biostatics was organized in NIMHANS-Bangalore.
Inter-departmental programs are organized for the faculties of the department
