The Department of Microbiology, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur has organized CME and Workshop on ‘A road map to automated blood culture system: to beat the bug and treat the sepsis’ on 24th August 2024 at Dr. S. R. Hegde Silver Jubilee Auditorium, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur. This one-day scientific event was registered in KMC Bangalore and obtained 2 credit hours from them.
The inauguration of the Workshop was done with lamp lighting by the Event’s Chief Guest Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, NET, Raichur, the President of the function Dr. B. Devanand, Dean/Principal, NMC, Raichur, Guest of Honour Dr. Arun K.N. MS, NMCH&RC, Raichur, Organizing Chairman Dr. Rajeshwari R S, Prof & Head, Dept. of Microbiology, NMC, Raichur and KMC Observer Dr. Venkatesh Naik, I/C HOD, Det. Of Microbiology, RIMS, Raichur.
Dr. Rajeshwari R S, the Organizing Chairman of the event greeted the dignitaries and introduced the topic ‘Sepsis Unveiled-2024’, the Chief Guest spoke on the occasion and motivated faculty to carry out such scientific events more frequently and periodically, the Dean/Principal of NMC gave presidential remarks and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anandkumar H, Organizing Secretary of the program.
The CME & Workshop consisted of Lectures from eminent speakers namely, Dr. Mallesh Gouda, MBBS, DCH, FIPA on the topic ‘Pediatric Sepsis Unveiled: Timely detection, Effective treatment, life-saving outcomes’, Dr. Ramakrishna M R, MD (Gen Med) on ‘Sepsis: The silent crisis – Recognize, Respond, and Rescue’, Dr. Shivdas Naik DM (Infectious Diseases) on ‘Optimizing Antibiotic Therapy: Strategies for Escalation and De-escalation’ and Dr. Arun Kaushik MD, DNB, PGDID on ‘Automation in the Blood Culture and interpretation of results’. The Hands-on workshop on ‘BD-Bactec Automated Blood culture system’ was conducted by Mr. Ambilikuttan, Senior Application Specialist from BD India. Sample Text
