The esteemed inaugural function where COMA 2022 was inaugurated and declared open.
It was joined by esteemed dignitaries and chief guest Dr Girish B Navasundi, Apollo hospitals, Bengaluru following which he enlightened the gathering with the Keynote Oration on Cardiac intervention : Present & Future.
The closing Keynote Oration by Dr Abbas Ali on Metamorphosis from a medico to a doctor. A good education can change anyone but a good teacher can change everything and the individual who epitomises this, is none other than the ultimate student sensation Dr. Abbas Ali, also popularly known as the Bone teacher.
Symposiums
Symposium 1 -” Crime Scene- Enter into the criminal ‘s mind” which was held on 26th July,2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm in the SR Hegde hall.

The main highlights of the event were, Affect of OTT Platforms on the criminal psychology. Relevance of visiting a crime scene as doctors.
Symposium 2 – OnComa

Which was held on 27th July, 2022 from 2-4pm in the SR Hegde hall.
Main highlights of the event :
- Immunotherapy in oncology and it’s advances.
- Precision oncology and the future of medical oncology.
Panel discussions
Panel discussion 1 – Violence against Doctors held on 27th July , 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Esteemed Panelists:
The session began with the brief overview of Violence against Doctors followed by discussion amongst the panellists on various subjects such as factors of Violence, effect of Violence, laws to be enforced. All the aspects were immensely impactful to our audience and the session ended with useful information on how to prevent violence in the workplace.
Panel discussion 2 – ” Scars to your beautiful” held on 28th July from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Esteemed Panelists:
The session began with a short clip of what beauty means to our teammates and their greatest insecurities compiled into a light hearted audio- visual display.
Subjects covered in this panel discussion ranged from what beauty means to our Panelists following to how one can overcome these unrealistic expectations the world has set today in terms of beauty. Effects of social media on today’s generation and its impact on mental health.
Workshops
With an intention to polish the skills of budding doctors , COMA offered a variety of workshops facilitated by accomplished leads to engage the undergraduates with hands-on experience.
The IAP recognised Skill Lab facility for workshops at Navodaya has harboured the latest technologies with modern mannequins making just the icing on the cake.
Addressing the life threatening conditions and scenarios, the Trauma Management workshop emphasised on managing haemorrhage, fractures, circulatory and respiratory emergencies build the confidence of the budding doctors.
Whereas the OBG and Neonatology workshop offered a realistic approach in handling postpartum emergencies, new-born resuscitation and IUD insertions with advanced mannequins.

The delegates also had a thorough session on life support facilities like CPR ,defibrillation and Heimlich manoeuvre in the Basic Life Support Workshop.

Meanwhile, the Basic Clinical Skills workshop offered the best of its faculty to teach procedures like Ryle-tube insertion , catheterization and lumbar puncture to acknowledge the practical experience of the medicos.

With IV access for peripheral cannulation and intravenous, intramuscular, intradermal and other modes of injections the Drug Administration Workshop was indeed a gathering of comprehensive knowledge and skills.

The Basic Surgical Skills was packed with a dynamic session on suturing techniques ,instrument handling and incision making which was widely acclaimed by our delegates, had new slots on all 3 days of the conference.

All the events ranging from educational ones, like symposiums, panel discussions and workshops, to passive events like Air crash, Aparichit : the debate, Whodunnit and Quizzards of Oz were meticulously planned to give delegates the most enriching and fun-filled experience.
The participants extended their appreciation and impressive remarks by maintaining the professional spirit throughout the sessions. In these 3 days, we have put our best efforts in refining their practical skills to top it with precision and perfection.
