CME Program on “Continuing Medical Education Program
With the unstinted support and encouragement from the Honorable Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust (NET), Shri. S. R. Reddy Sir, as a part of Silver Jubilee celebration year, a CME was organized on 22nd July 2018 by the Department of Surgery, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur at Dr. Gurumurthy hall. The scientific sessions began at 9:00 AM and the inaugural function was held at 11:00 AM.
The inaugural function was presided by Dr. R H Taklikar, Prof & HOD Dept of Physiology & In charge Principal Navodaya Medical College. The chief guest for the event was Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, N.E.T. and Brigadier Dr. Ashok Mahendrakar, Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC, Raichur, was the Guests of honor. Dr. K B Phuleker, Organizing Chairman, Professor and H.O.D. Dept of Surgery, NMC Raichur and Dr. Ramappa K, KMC Observer, Dr Nagaraj Bhalki Organizing Secretary were among the other dignitaries on the dais.
Dr. Ramappa K welcomed the gathering, Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, N.E.T. and Brigadier Dr. Ashok Mahendrakar, Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC, Raichur addressed the gathering, Dr Nagaraj Bhalki Organizing Secretary and Professor, Department of Surgery, proposed the vote of thanks.
The scientific event was quite successful by the orations given by five eminent Resource persons Dr Vijay Kumar C Bada, Dr Hemanth, Dr Phaniraj, Dr Krishna Kiran & Dr Lavanya with versatile experience in the field of Surgical Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology & Paediatric Surgery respectively. The scientific sessions other than the orations, also included video demonstrations and case discussions. A total number of 178 delegates from various medical colleges, and hospitals from 4 different states (Karnataka, Telangana State, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh) attended this CME and were enlightened by the interactive Scientific sessions. Postgraduate students, consultants and others were thoroughly educated about the newer concepts and recent advances in liver tumor & liver resection, burns management, head-injury management, Ca Breast, Upper GI Bleed & Paediatric Emergency. The scientific event concluded with valedictory function at 5:30 PM, chaired by Dr. K B Phuleker, Dr Ramappa K, Dr Nagaraj Bhalki and the Resource persons
The conduction of the entire event was highly appreciated by the assembled delegates and special invitees.
Having conducted “CME”, Karnataka Medical Council, Bengaluru has provided an accreditation of “2 credit hours” to all the registered delegates and “5 credit hours” to the Resource persons.
