Advances in Liquid Based Cytology: Enhancing Diagnostic Accuracy and optimizing Patient Outcome –CME and Workshop August 31st 2024
With the bounteous support and guidance from the Hon’ble Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust (NET), Sri. S. R. Reddy Sir, a one day “CME & Workshop on Advances in Liquid Based Cytology: Enhancing Diagnostic Accuracy and optimizing Patient Outcome” was organized on 31st August 2024 from 9.00am to 5.00pm, by the Department of Pathology, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur at Dr. S. R. Hegde Silver Jubilee Auditorium. .
The Inaugural function was held at 11:15 AM and was presided by Dr. B. Devanand, Dean/Principal, Navodaya Medical College. Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, N.E.T and Dr. Arun K. N., Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC were the guests of honor. Dr. Aanand A.S. Program Director, Vice-Principal, Professor and H.O.D. Dept of Pathology, NMC, Dr. P Vijaykumar, Director IP&SA, NET and Dr. Rashmi kumari T.R., KMC Observer were among the other dignitaries on the dais.
Dr A. S. Aanand, Program Director and Professor & HOD, Pathology, delivered the welcome address, introduced the resource persons and briefed about the CME which aimed at screening of the Cervical cancers. Dr N. Prasanna, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, proposed the vote of thanks.
The scientific event included orations by 2 internationally renowned, eminent Resource persons, Dr. Nandish Manoli and Dr. Nandini Manoli, with vast experience in the field of Gynecology and Cytology along with Dr. Rita D. Prof & HOD, OBG, NMCH&RC.
Mr. Libu Thomas, Regional Head, EziPrep LBC India & Product Specialist was also one of the speaker who conducted the Hands-On training of the EziPrep equipment (installed at Central Lab NMCH&RC) at Practical hall, Dept. of Pathology, NMC. A slide seminar session comprising of varied benign and malignant lesions of Cervix was conducted by Dr. Nandini Manoli, for budding Pathologists and faculties.
The scientific sessions in addition to slide seminar, also included a panel discussion involving all the resource persons with moderation by Dr. Shruti Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, Navodaya Medical College.
Over 270 delegates from various medical colleges and hospitals from 3 different states (Karnataka, Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh) attended this CME and Workshop and were enlightened by the interactive Scientific sessions. Postgraduate students, consultants and others were thoroughly educated about the Liquid Based Cytology techniques and the advantages of the same. The scientific event concluded with valedictory function at 5:00 PM which was conducted by Dr A. S. Aanand, Program Director where, the Resource persons and KMC observer also participated.
Having conducted “CME & Workshop on Advances in Liquid Based Cytology: Enhancing Diagnostic Accuracy and optimizing Patient Outcome”, Karnataka Medical Council, Bengaluru has provided an accreditation of “2 credit hours” to all the registered delegates and additional credit hours to the Resource persons.
The conduction of the above event was highly appreciated by the assembled delegates and special invitees.
