A CME/Workshop Titled “INCULCATING KNOWLEDGE REGARDING RATIONAL PRESCRIPTION OF NARCOTICS AND NARCOTIC ABUS”
Workshop was organized by Department of Pharmacology, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur, On Wednesday 26th June 2024.
The inaugural function was Presided by Dr. B. Devanand, Dean/Principal, NMCH&RC Raichur, Raivhur, Chief Guest for the event was Dr. T. Srinivas Registrar Navodaya Education Trust, Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Director, IP&SA, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur and Dr. Arun K.N, Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC, Raichur was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Venkatesh M. Patil, Program Director NARCOO-2024 Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC and Dr. Manjunath H. KMC Observer / Professor & Head, Department of Physiology, RIMS, Raichur were among the other dignitaries on the dias. Dr. Venkatesh M. Patil, welcomed the gathering and briefed regarding NARCOO-2024 A CME/ Workshop, Dr. Prabhakar Patil, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC introduced Resource Person Dr. Sree Harsha Hardar, Associate Professor Dept. of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC, Raichur, Dr.Rajesh C.S Associate Professor Dept. of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC, Raichur introduced Resource Person Dr. Kevin Manohar Salis Associate professor, Dept. of Pharmacology VIMS&RC, Bengalore. Dr. Prabhakar Patil, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC introduced Resource Person Dr. Ramakrishna M.R Professor Dept. of General Medicine, NMCH&RC, Raichur. Dr. Roopa C.R Assistant Professor Dept. of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC, Raichur introduced Resource Person Dr. Bande Nawaz Prof. & Head Dept. of Forensic Medicine, NMCH&RC, Raichur. Dr. Neeta T.G Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC introduced Resource Person Dr. Pavan Kumar K Professor Dept. of Psychiatry, NMCH&RC, Raichur. Dr.Rajesh C.S Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC, Raichur administered the pledge against drug abuse to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. A Sudha Madhuri Professor, Department of Pharmacology, NMCH&RC, proposed the vote of thanks. The theme for the CME/Workshop was “MAKE DRUG ABUSE A HISTORY”, On the occasion of International Day observed on 26th June against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking. The Dept. Of Pharmacology is conducted A CME/WORKSHOP on Narcotics and it’s abuse titled “NARCOO-2024… INCULCATING KNOWLEDGE REGARDING RATIONAL PRESCRIPTION OF NARCOTICS AND NARCOTIC ABUSE". Narcotics include rational prescription of narcotics as well as their abuse… With effects ranging from pain relief to euphoria and potential capability for causing addiction. Understanding the types of narcotics, including rational prescription of narcotics and their abuse which is crucial for public health and their safety. Narcotic addiction has wide ranging consequences affecting physical health, mental well-being and social situations in a given community. “NARCOO-2024” helped Undergraduates, Postgraduates, Staff at large regarding rational prescription of narcotics and narcotic abuse. A Total number of 350+ delegates registered from Navodaya group of Institutions and other parts of Kalyana Karnataka region. The registered delegates who attended “NARCOO-2024” were awarded Two credit points by Karnataka Medical Council, Bengaluru. The conduction of the entire CME/Workshop was highly appreciated by the authorities and deemed to be a resounding success
