“WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2017” – program report.
With the able guidance and encouragement from the Honorable Chairman Navodaya Education Trust (NET), Shri. S. R. Reddy Sir, We the Department Of Psychiatry organized half a day CME Program on World Mental Health Day celebration on 10/10/2017 in our NMCH &RC, Raichur . The inaugural function was held at 9:45AM at Dr. C.M. Gurumurthy Hall 2nd floor. The inaugural function was presided by. Dr. B. Vijayachandra sir, Principal, NMC and Brigadier Dr. Ashok Mahendrakar sir, Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC, Raichur, was the Guests of honour. The Guest speakers for the event were Dr Girish Babu Associate professor, Dept of Psychiatry, SDM Dharwad and DR Sunil kumar Assistant Professor, Dept of psychiatry ,NMCRH, Raichur. Dr. T. Srinivas sir, Registrar, NET was unable to attend the event for personal reasons but conveyed best wishes for the event. Dr Vinay Kumar, Assistant Professor ,dept of Psychiatry welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Dr Pavan Kumar Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, proposed the vote of thanks. The program was attended by all the first year students of medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing and physiotherapy along with their faculty and respective college Principals. The scientific event was quite successful by the orations given by resource persons with versatile experience in the field of mental health. Details of guest lectures are

2) Dr. Sunil Kumar: Talk on “STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENTS”
Guest lectures were followed by interactive discussion with the students regarding the psychological stressors faced by them. Life skills training mainly handling academic stress, improving interpersonal communication and seeking professional help when needed.
STUDENTS HELPLINE NUMBER (mobile no: 9945540369) for all the students of NET institutions was also launched by the dignitaries. The helpline will be attended by one of the faculty of dept of psychiatry round the clock. Students were encouraged to seek any kind of psychological help needed for their problems.
