Celebration of ‘‘YUVA SAPTHAHA 2024

With reference to above cited subject as instructed by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Ministry of youth affairs and sports, GOI & GOK have informed to celebrate “YUVA SAPTHAHA” From 12th to 18th Jan 2024.
In this regard Department of Community Medicine, under the guidance of Dr. Boramma G, organised the following activities as a part of Yuva Sapthaha.

1) Health Awareness, Medical Camp in adopted village
2) Millet Awareness & Food Festival
3) Visit of Anganwadi/School & Create awarenesson Health & Sanitation

Details of each program has been mentioned

1) Health Awareness, Medical Camp in adopted village(Old Maliyabad)
On 13/01/2024 in Old Maliyabad Health camp was organised. Health awareness talk was given by Dr. Roopakala N following which health check up of village residents was carried out.

1) Millet Awareness & Food Festival
On 17/01/2024 in Govt. First Grade Degree College, Raichur a Health awareness talk on “Insights of Millets & Other Food items” to Promote Health & Prevent diseases, was given by Dr. Sudhakar, BHMS, Dr. Pratibha Reddy & Dr. Roopakala N. Emphasization on nutritional benefits promoting health and preventing various Non-Communicable diseases on regular consumption of millets was done.

A mini Food Festival was exhibited focussing on different types of millets, cereals, pulses & green leafy vegetables. Students were also made aware of Front of Packaging and Nutrition label(FOPNL).

1) Visit of Anganwadi/School & Create awareness on Health & Sanitation
On 18/01/2024 a Health awareness program on promoting Health & Sanitation was organised in Anganwadi centre situated in Janatha Colony and Siddhartha School, Ashapur road of urban field practice area. Awareness talk was given by Interns regarding importance of personal hygiene.
Demonstration regarding steps of hand washing and brushing teeth was shown to the children.
