Introduction:
The Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Medical Education Unit (MEU) at NMC Raichur, organized a guest lecture on “Recent Trends in HIV/AIDS in Pediatric Population.” The event aimed to update the faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns about the latest advancements and challenges in the field of pediatric HIV/AIDS. The esteemed guest speaker for the lecture was Dr. S. N. Mothi, a renowned senior pediatrician and NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) member from Mysore.
Dr Sanjeev Chetty , Professor & HOD of Pediatrics, welcomed the gathering & introduced the resource person for the event.
Attendance:
The event was well-attended by Dean Dr B Devanand , MS Dr PSK Patel , and Vice Principal Dr AS Aanand , HODs ,faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns from various departments. The audience comprised individuals with a keen interest in pediatric medicine and a desire to enhance their knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS in children.

- Dr Mothi has been brainchild of the standalone HIV/AIDS treatment centre “ASHAKIRAN” NGO at Mysore, serving the needy for more than 3 decades and shared his valuable experience of the same and emphasized that, the cases of HIV/AIDS need to be given utmost care, compassion and attention like all others in the society.
