Sensitization Program on Revised RNTCP Guidelines

At Dr. S.R.Hegde Silver Jubilee Hall, Navodaya Medical College
for Post Graduates of Navodaya Medical College, Raichur
This Senstization Program on Revised RNTCP Guidelines was organised by RNTCP Core Committee, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur in collaboration with Dist. Tuberculosis Office, Health & Family Welfare Dept. Govt. of Karnataka.
The inauguration of the fucntion was done by the Guest of Honour of the function Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur. Dr. B. Vijayachandra, Principal, Navodaya Medical College, Dr. Bheemayya B, Nodal Officer, RNTCP and Prof & Head of the Department of P&SM, Dr. A. Mahendrakar, Medical Superintendent, NMCH&RC, Raichur and Dr. Surendra Babu, Dist. TB Officer, Raichur were also present for inaugural function.
The resource persons conributed for sensitization program were; Dr. Ayesha Nawaz and Dr. Bheemayya B from the department of Community Medicine, Dr. Anandkumar H from department of Microbiology, Dr. Guruprasad Antin and Dr. Khayyum Ali from the department Respiratory Medicine and Dr. Surendra Babu from Health and Family Welfare department, Govt. of Karnataka.
The topics included in the sensitization program were – Introduction and Epidemiology of TB, TB infection and Disease, Contact Finding, Screening and prophylaxis, TB case finding and Laboratory diagnosis, Daily Regimen and its implemetation and MDR TB and its management.
The session ended with discussion, feedback from participants and valedictory.
A total of 51 Medical post graduates from various departments of Navodaya Medical College, Raichur have attended the sensitization program on Revised RNTCP Guideline.
